I’ve been doing only a teeny bit of traveling around PEI for school visits since the release of Teagan of Tomorrow. Mostly because I’m under a pretty tight deadline to get the fourth book in the series finished. Yes. Second Twin is on its first major round of rewrites and I will admit that the process is draining me.
The story is *almost there* thanks to some hard work by myself and my editor. I’m very happy with it, but it’s taking forever a long time to get through this round. Also, I’m lucky enough to be booked up with work that actually pays the bills while I write my fairy tales, so I have some pretty full days.
Anyway, where was I? Right. School visits.
One thing that has taken me completely off guard when I visit these schools is the fact that the kids have done their homework about me. When I’m in these classrooms, I hear that students (and teachers) have been reading my blog and watching my videos and for some reason I’m shocked that people might actually be coming here to read about what I’m up to.
I know how disappointing it is to find a blog I like and then see that there are never any new updates, so I will try harder. I do love blogging. It’s just next to impossible to find the time. And I’m sure you all want me to get that next book finished as soon as I can, right?
Speaking of days being full… with the holidays right around the corner, I’m excited that The Bookmark in Charlottetown has invited me for a book signing this upcoming Saturday, December 19th. I’ll be there from 11am until 1pm and I anticipate a busy day with it being the last weekend before Christmas.
So if you have a copy of one of my books that you’d like signed for a special reader for Christmas, I will be armed with Sharpies.
As for when you can expect the fourth book in the Legend of Rhyme series, I believe Second Twin is scheduled to be released in the fall!
Now, it’s been great chatting with you, but I have some rewrites to get back to.
