I can honestly say that I’ve never been happier. I am literally living my dream as my first novel is about to go live.
Last night I was speaking with my publisher about our initial run of print copies. We were making decisions about what size cover we should go with, whether it should be hardcover or paperback, glossy or matte, etc. It’s all quite surreal, and so amazing I can’t really put it into words. (And that’s what I do for a living…put things into words.)
December 2 is the date we’re aiming for, as our official launch but it’s not 100% firm yet. I should have the exact date in the next day or two and I’ll be letting you all know when that will be.
While Elora of Stone awaits its debut, it’s currently up on Netgalley, a magical place where professional readers request digital copies of books in exchange for honest reviews. The publisher has a set of guidelines, and anyone who requests a copy must fit within their parameters. So not just any Tom, Dick, or Harry can get a copy of the book. Phew.
I was told that within the first 24 hours, Elora of Stone was viewed over 230 times. This bodes well.
It’s exciting to think that there are people out there reading my novel. I’m a tad nervous waiting to read those reviews, but I guess that’s part of it!
Reviews are hugely important to authors. If you’ve read a book and loved it, do that author a favor and head to Amazon and/or Goodreads and write them a nice review. When you leave an author a 5-star review, an angel gets its wings.
