First public reading

September 24, 2014 / by JaimeLee / Leave a Comment

I’ll be making a visit to the VIP Grade 4 class at Morell Consolidated School in mid-October to read Elora of Stone to the students.

I’m looking forward to being able to see the reactions of boys and girls in my target audience! This will be a well-timed visit so I can make tweaks to the novel if needed, before it’s published (which will be happening in December).

After I’ve read the book, I’ve agreed to make another visit to the class to talk to the students about the writing process I use and where I get the ideas for my stories. That will be so much fun! And a little surreal, since I distinctly remember being in Grade 4 myself when I first started thinking about being an author.
