How is the weekend over already?
I didn’t actually get any writing done yesterday, because I think my brain melted after a tough week. I mean, I jotted down some thoughts about the book, but actual writing? It didn’t happen.
I *did* manage to take my kid to the library which is productive. A slew of my in-laws visited yesterday after dinner—a gaggle of Manns. Well, there were only three of them. Is that a gaggle? Regardless of what a group of family members is called, I’m grateful they’re in our lives.
Today I got almost a whole chapter written. I said I would share something with you, so here you go:
The air is completely still. The twins look at each other through a thin veil of large, glittery snowflakes falling so slowly, they appear to be moving in slow motion. Their breath hangs in tiny clouds on the frigid air.
Again, I didn’t get a lot of writing done this weekend, but every word counts!
Other things I did today…
I went to the farmer’s market to pick up my veggie box. It was a pretty great haul today (tomatoes, lemon cukes, red onions, kale, a cantaloupe, peppers, patty pan squash, potatoes, cauliflower, parsley…) I also bought a cabbage, some eggs, and a couple of stainless steel bento boxes. I had a hard time carrying everything home. The walk always feels longer when you’re carrying forty pounds of vegetables. Uphill.
When I got home, I made a meal plan for the week based on the veggies I got and let’s just say that Wednesday there will be tomato soup.
I found out this afternoon that I won a draw for a $50 gift card from a local restaurant (The Holy Cow) after filling out ballots at each booth I bought stuff from at the market. Sweet! I think that’s a sign that this week will be better than last.
My brain was so done yesterday that I turned off my phone and tried to unplug for a few hours. It is now 9:30pm and I still haven’t turned it back on. It’s kind of awesome.
I baked zucchini brownies. They were delicious. Well, I didn’t eat the whole pan yet. I just had one.
I watched a movie (Bandslam) with my family while we ate pizza and veggies. I love my family.
I tidied up my Pinterest account a bit, and created a board for Teagan, to showcase her mermaidy interests. That was fun and addictive.
I guess that was about it. I plan to go back to writing now for a little while (whilst watching Rachael Ray On Demand) before I call it a day. I guess I’ll also turn on my phone because I use it as my alarm clock and tomorrow is Monday!
How was your weekend?
