Meet some of the faces behind the LOR series!

October 31, 2019 / by JaimeLee / 1 Comment

Hey friends!

October has been a zany month for me, full of fun things.

It involved seeing Margaret Atwood at an event here in Charlottetown, which was pretty great. I also got to read to some students (hello grade five Eliot River students and the Montague home schooling group!).

There were birthdays, an anniversary,  Thanksgiving dinners, visits to an apple orchard and a pumpkin patch… all kinds of things going on.

And to top it all off, I flew away to Toronto for a couple of days with my business partner/editor to meet with clients, and then I took a train to Stratford, Ontario, where the Legend of Rhyme series publishing headquarters are located!

I got to meet some people face-to-face that I never met in person before, and I thought I’d share some photos from my adventures with you.

This is my editor and I, on our flight to Toronto

The Kaleidoscope Gala at Palais Royale
Christine and I were in Toronto to attend a charity gala being held for an organization we work with, called MiaThrives.

I had to snap a selfie with the host of the event, Liz Trinnear. You might recognize her from The Launch, Much Music, or ETalk!
Butterfly band
MiaThrives supports the emotional needs of Canadian children living with the rare disease of Epidermolysis Bullosa. These children are known as Butterfly Children, because their skin is as delicate as the wings of a butterfly. #bandtogether
Stratford Chefs School Menu
After the gala, I left Toronto and headed to Stratford, by train, to hang out with my publisher for the weekend! This was a dinner I attended, as part of the Stratford Writers Festival. PARSNIP ICE CREAM!!!
Turns out, I really like parsnip ice cream.

Jaime Lee Mann and Judy Maddren
This is me with the amazing Judy Maddren. CBC Radio legend and the voice behind the Ancient Fall audio book!
Revival House
I attended two events here and it was an absolutely stunning venue.
Stratford Writers Festival
This is not a great photo, quality-wise, but the people in it are top notch! At the left, is Jamie, the woman who designed the most recent covers for the Legend of Rhyme books. In between that Jamie and this Jaime is my publicist, Merle.
The beautiful Revival House stage

Just look at how gorgeous this space is!
YUM
Mary Berg @ Revival House
I LOVED the Mary Berg literary cafe event.
Yum... cucumber cocktail.

Dayna Manning @ Revival House
Dayna Manning is a goddess. The end.
I loved my stay at The Queen's Inn, in Stratford. The location was perfect!
My room number just so happened to feature my lucky number! #13
Flying isn't my favourite, but look at this!
I think this is what Heaven looks like....
