Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da

August 23, 2018 / by JaimeLee / Leave a Comment

When I sat down to write this blog post, I thought I’d take a quick sec to check my Twitter feed and then I searched for something I meant to follow up on about six months ago, and now twenty minutes later here I am.

This is why, when I work on my books, I can’t be on a computer when I’m trying to be creative. I end up going down way too many rabbit holes!

Speaking of writing…

Yesterday my day involved a lot of waiting in areas that either didn’t have a spot for me to get comfortable with my computer, didn’t have a spot for me to plug in my old laptop (which has such a poor battery it doesn’t really count as a battery), or didn’t have wifi. So, I got a bit of client writing done at Starbucks where conditions were right for working, and a lot of hand scrawled figuring done for Ancient Fall everywhere else. That counts as productivity.

I grabbed lunch at Wendy’s because I was craving the Apple Pecan salad. I love that thing. Have you tried it? (BTW: their wifi connection can’t be trusted, according to my Mac)

I spent the early part of the evening working on a client’s book, while my brain was still able to pull together sentences, and then I quit to make dinner. I had a bunch of fresh basil so I made pesto, and the pesto was crying for noodles and tomatoes, so I trusted the pesto and made pasta for dinner. It was delicious.

My Shelby required some extra snuggling yesterday evening, because she seems to not be feeling 100%. Then after she went to bed, I hung out with my Casey for awhile, while she played her guitar. She lets me sing along because 1. I can’t help it when she plays Beatles songs, and 2. I think it helps her with her timing.

But, fair warning. If you’re going to play Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da on a guitar, I’ll be singing along.

I was in bed before 10pm. Then I had a very elaborate nightmare.

Do you know Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da? Have a listen. It’s a great song!

While The Beatles sing to me on Spotify, I’m going to finish my coffee, sign off from here, and get this day started! I have two big projects to work on today and I’m feeling productive.

What’s going on in your world today?
