Proofing and planning

November 28, 2014 / by JaimeLee / Leave a Comment

I dreamt last night that a big box of books arrived at my door–my first novel in print! But the pages were all screwed up and my mother had decided to surprise me by going to the publisher and having photos of me and my family stuffed throughout the book. I was in a bit of a sweat over that one.

I have a lot of book stuff on the brain 🙂

This week I’ve been in touch with my marketing team about our promotional plan for Elora of Stone. Library and school visits are being arranged across PEI (Cardigan and Montague have been confirmed!) and I just can’t wait!

I’ve signed off on the final proof of the cover for Elora of Stone, and have given the go-ahead on the book proof before it goes to Kindle (December 2) and print (soon after). We were going to do a special run of hardcover copies, but we’ve decided to go with paperback for novel one and possibly do a hardcover version when the second novel comes out this spring.

I’ll be checking in with links the very second Elora of Stone is available so you’ll know where to get your copy!

In the meantime, I’ve been busy trying to finish the first draft of Teagan of Tomorrow, which, I’m doubtful will actually be wrapped up during NaNoWriMo and I’m completely ok with that. It will be done soon, but really, you can’t rush these things. It’s a fabulous story so I’m taking it slow.

And please can someone tell me, how did the end of the month get here so quickly AGAIN?
