Holy smokes, September is speeding along.
That means it’s almost time for Stir of Shadows to hit bookstore shelves!
It takes a lot of work to plan a book launch. My publicist, Talia, has been helping out behind the scenes, and Blue Moon’s artist has been creating some pretty posters and other things. I’ll be chatting with Angela Walker on CBC Mainstreet next week. I’ll let you know when the interview will air.
My own personal order of books has arrived! I love looking at them. These will be used primarily for school visit sales. This year when I visit classrooms, I will only have copies of books 4-6 until I run out. I’ve traditionally had all titles available for sale for students, but I can’t carry that kind of inventory anymore and besides, the bookstores love your business ๐
I’ve been working pretty steadily on client work, as most of my personal writing time has been going towards Stir of Shadows promo, but I’ve also been fleshing out my next series. It’s going to be in the YA (Young Adult) world, which means I need to start reading more books in that genre.
I’m starting with the following three:
- Cinder
- Shooter
- Magonia
They are all very different.
Last night was the Meet the Teacher event at our kids’ school. It was great to meet our wonderful new principal, Mr. McIsaac. I learned that he is also an author. I look forward to chatting with him more about that sometime.
I’ve invited a longtime friend over for dinner this evening. I’m looking forward to that visit. I am making a ham. Speaking of visits, my parents just dropped in for a few minutes on their way through. I love those two. I don’t make enough time to see them and I need to get better at that because they are fun to be around.
On that note, it’s time for me to get to work. I’m digging in to a book project today for a new client and I’m pretty stoked about it.
K, bye for now!
Can you give me a copy? And if I can, could you sign it? Or do I have to pay?
I’ll see what I can do! xo
